Andre Ivarsson

Another fresh face at Edgewood this year, Andre Ivarsson took over as our Director of Racquets at the beginning of 2021. Another international transplant hailing from Kiel, Germany, Andre has been a fantastic source of knowledge and energy, Andre has been making great strides in revitalizing our tennis and pickleball programs here at the Club. With over a decade of coaching and instructing experience, Andre has proved to be an invaluable addition to our community, where he has been instituting clinics for players of all levels and bringing in great participation with our racquets program.

A four-year starter at Lander University, Andre finished his collegiate career as a two-time NCAA Division II All-American in Doubles and was ranked #4 nationally during his junior season. After graduating from Lander, Andre played professionally in Germany, Sweden and Norway before beginning his career as the head coach of the Men's & Women's Tennis teams Anderson University. Since then, Andre has held professional positions at Spartanburg Athletic Club, Chartwell Country Club and the Field Club of Greenwich. Additionally, Andre founded and ran the Euro Star Tennis Academy in Annapolis, Maryland from 2013-2017. In conjunction with his position at Edgewood, Andre currently serves as the Head Tennis Professional and Director of Paddle at Westchester Country Club.

Andre holds a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Lander in 2008 and holds teaching certificates from USPTA Tennis and APTA Platform Tennis.
